Counterculture Christianity - Oxymoron or Biblical Expectation.
Countercultural Christianity! Is this an oxymoron or a reasonable biblical expectation? This is the question that will be discussed by the young professionals and youth of the Adelaide City Church when they take over the pulpit and worship leadership for 4 weekends. This eight meeting series is for those who have ever wondered how a biblical worldview will impact both social and personal Christianity.
The presentations will be as follows;
Sabbath Aug 20: Being Countercultural in the Consumer World”. In the worship service Ivan Lee will be preaching on the subject of "When enough is never enough”. On Sabbath afternoon Danny Ngo will deal with the question; How do I then live in a world of blatant consumerism
Sabbath August 27: “Being Countercultural in the Religious World” In the worship service Dr Wilson Chee will be preaching on the spiritual challenge to a secular church. On Sabbath afternoon Dr Kristian Stefani and Nikki Sliwa will look at the question; “What makes Christian Music - Christian”.
Friday Night Sept 2 and Sabbath September 3: "Health and Spiritually - Divinely Linked". The worship service this weekend will be led by Dr Chester Kuma, Health Director of the South Pacific Division. On this occasion he will be looking at the biblical linkage between Health and Spirituality. On Friday evening (Sept 2) he will be considering the subject of "Alcohol; Is Abstinence Reasonable”.
Sabbath September 10: Being Countercultural in Relationships. In the worship service Dr Wayne Lee will look at the experience of King David. The sermon is entitled “When Love is no Longer Beautiful”.
